The Toad and the Leaf by Idraemir The Toad and the Leaf by Idraemir

Picture of a common toad accompanied with its leaf. The common toad (very common in Europe) is considered as the longest amphibian of the continent (the female can measure more than 110 mm in length). The common toad is easily recognizable with it's back strewed with warts which secrete a creamy poison to protect it against the predators. Two big protuberances situated just behind the head are in fact some poisonous glands.
